REM eh?
I got to see REM yet again the past Wednesday night at the Humming Bird Center for performing arts and it was an interesting show. For the first hour of the concert there could have been white noise on the speakers because I did not know one song that REM played. The only thing unique about each song was the way that Michael Stripe was twitching on the stage, yes twitching. Countless times I heard "This is a new song of ours, we just recorded it last week" or "This is a song we only play live..." all of which I didn't have a clue what they were.
The audience was starting to sit down about a 30 minutes in and I followed suit but everyone got up and cheered when they played Losing my Religion. I thought to myself, ok they are going to do some old stuff now...I was wrong. Losing my Religion was played as a tease to ensure the people in the audience were standing and no walking out the door. It was like gambling all night....The next song I will know....oh maybe the next...this one maybe...Ok defiantly the encore...I only knew 3. I refused to cheer for the encore, mainly because the idea of an encore is lost today. People should not expect an encore, but earn it. So anyway, back to the twitchy vegetarian on the stage spouting nonsense about Hollywood stealing his look of wearing a mask over his eyes. Yes...it seems good ole Michael invented this look, or so he said. So during the encore they decide to play Man on the Moon and what's the frequency Kenneth, which actually surprised me.
Everything considered it wasn't that bad of a concert, just a rip off. Paying 90 dollars for tickets to a show where they never played any of their classics, I was a bit disappointed but hey it was fun. He was a very energetic entertainer and he did put on a great show, I just didn't know what I was watching. Like over half the audience I wanted to check my ticket to make sure I never walked into the wrong show.
Anyway....You live you learn, I just wasn't aware that I knew so little of REM's new stuff. It's funny though, last year they played in front of 10,000 people and this year only 3500. I wonder why?

Snuh
So I think it's about time I make a post here on this internet for my friendly followers. The past few weeks have been both interesting and fun for myself and for others. Well last weekend I decided to cash in my first vacation day and made a long weekend out of it, which turned out pretty good. Me and Sarah went to Windsor to visit some people and in all honesty we didn't really get to do much up there. We did end up going to the casino with a few people where we won 400 dollars in about 20 minutes. Ok, I only won 20 odd but Sarah won 390 almost.
Currently looking for a place to live in Waterloo, I'm going to be getting the boot out of my place in December so I should find a place to live so I'm not in the gutter eh? This weekend I'm going to go check out a few 1 bedroom apartments. It does cost a shit load of money but is it ever worth it! My apartment is always clean, my food doesn't get eaten on me, don't have to worry about roommates annoying you. So many benefits to going solo.
Going to see REM, as I mentioned before, on the 10th @ the Hummingbird Center for Performing Arts. That's going to be a good concert because the acoustics of this place coupled with the fact that our seats are great will make it pretty damn cool! Other then that, there isn't much going on in my life right now, just relaxing and enjoying what very little Waterloo has to offer :) Anyway, I'm outta here
